Perfect for contemporary homes this Stolzl throw from Wallace Sewell will bring an artistic streak to your interior space.

This striking blanket is re-edition of Gunta Stölzl’s original ‘Prellerdecke’ blanket. The project was initiated by Jörg Klambt, founder of Designshop at Bauhaus Dessau; where in 1926, the first Prellerhaus blankets were made in the weaving workshops. Gunta Stölzl was fundamental to the Bauhaus weaving department and when the Bauhaus moved to Dessau, Stölzl, who was a master of the weaving workshop, designed a blanket for the ‘Prellerhaus’ student dormitories. The original design having been lost, Wallace Sewell realised and recreated the design, with help from Stölzl’s daughter, Monika Stadler, and archive drawings and photographs. Entirely made from warm, insulating lambswool, drape over soft furnishings ready for cosying up with on cool winter evenings.

About Wallace Sewell
UK based British design studio, Wallace Sewell, was established by Harriet Wallace-Jones and Emma Sewell after graduating from The Royal College of Art in 1990. Working from London and Dorset, this progressive studio pioneers excellence and originality within their woven products. Combining innovation with practical solutions, Wallace Sewell are known for their use of colour, structure and yarn in surprising geometric formats. Inspired by paintings, they create individual contemporary fabrics with strikingly bold, asymmetric blocks and stripes of varying scales.
