Editor's Notes

Designed in-house, the Iowa prairie shirt from Liberty features an engineered layout of our archival Seraphina print on Tana Lawn™ cotton, finished with frilled detailing and contrasting placket cuffs.

Liberty’s Autumn 2020 womenswear collection embraces a witty and art-inflected maximalism inspired by the ornate gothic and Art Nouveau revival styles of Bernard Nevill, Liberty’s Design Director of the 1960s and ‘70s. The Iowa prairie shirt is crafted from Tana – a breathable and fluid revelation of a fabric that we’ve been formulating for over a century, expertly printed in Italy. Originally created in the 1910s, Seraphina takes the form of a dreamy water fountain scene, framed by cascading paisleys in a bewitching tableau.
