Editor's Notes

This diamond heart pendant necklace is another distinctive, oxidised silver offering from Acanthus - the fine jewellery line by designer Nicole McIver, whose art history background informs every last detail.

This delicate chain necklace features a small heart pendant with a brilliant cut white diamond centre on each side. Hand-applied 24 carat gold foil is painstakingly cut, placed and bonded to the silver using the ancient Korean gilding technique of 'keum-boo' to create the pendant's reversible, inverted star design. Team it with the coordinating diamond heart drop earrings for an enchanting evening look.

About Acanthus
Acanthus is a jewellery line from Nichole McIver, a former art historian who creates each piece in her studio in Minnesota. The brand's name refers to a scrolling foliage motif whose reappearance throughout different eras of history symbolises a sense of timelessness, according to McIver - a trait she endeavours to recreate within her work. The designer is drawn to the medieval and the ancient, particularly pre-16th century objects that she reimagines and transforms into intricate jewellery.
