A new take on the cult Escentric Molecules fragrance, Molecule 01 + Iris eau de toilette pairs the original synthetic aroma molecule with another single scent ingredient.

Loved for its irresistible, magnetic appeal, Molecule 01 is the anti-fragrance fragrance that has been dubbed the scent of the 21st century. The Molecule + range is perfumer Geza Schoen's love song to minimalism, in which he matches wonder molecule Iso E Super with a trio of plus ones: iris, mandarin and patchouli. Molecule 01 + Iris combines Iso E Super's radiant effect with the floral, creamy powderiness of iris, which brings a physical dimension to the original.

“It’s not easy to describe iris’ smell as such, but if you smell a fragrance without it, and then with it, you understand immediately what it does. It adds a creamy powderiness. To me, iris is luxury. The iris pallida absolute I’ve used here is one of the most expensive ingredients in perfumery. You can find iris extracts for way less than that. But they do not have the great and subtle beauty of this absolute. It’s radical to put this much in a fragrance. The sillage is fantastic. About Escentric Molecules
Born out of its founder Geza Schoen’s love for Iso E Super, a strange, cedar-ish and sometimes velvety aroma-molecule that doesn’t exist in nature, Escentric Molecules has pursued a unique and rebellious vision of fragrance since it released its first pair of soon-to-be-cult-favourite Iso E-intense perfumes in 2006. Escentric Molecules’ fragrances are neither classical nor straightforwardly pretty. Instead, the molecules at their hearts (chiefly Iso but others, like Javanol, too) are designed to meld, in the peculiar way of synthetic notes, with the wearer’s natural pheromones.
