Close-knit company and all-out ambience will be key: gathering loved ones near, lighting candles, listening to music, wearing luxurious loungewear, and eating and drinking delicious things are all top of the menu. Staying in means preparing for the new year with a clear mind and in comfortable settings. Comfy PJs, a nice glass of bubbly and a cheers at midnight with my boyfriend or family.

To go into the new year, I’ll be cooking for my boyfriend and I – we’ll be enjoying a glass of champagne at midnight together while setting our intentions for a happy and prosperous New Year.
Liberty Tip: Create a tablescape to remember with settings and ornamentation to reflect the mood – New Year’s calls for low light and plenty of lit tapers, all the better to glimmer through the champagne glasses.

Liberty tip: Out with the old, in with the new – as an after-dinner ritual, consider writing your reflections on the past year and wishes for the one to come, then (safely) burning the paper on a favourite candle.
