Perfumer H Dandelion Eau de Parfum 50ml, £130

Natalie Guselli, head of beauty and commercial merchandising

“I adore this new fragrance from Perfumer H that sits within the fresh family – it is such a delicate scent that is intriguing and subtle and sits like a second skin. It’s very nostalgic, refreshing and clean with a little zing of lemon and basil coming through. There’s something very interesting in there that balances it out to make it a great unisex fragrance. Apparently, perfumer Lyn Harris spent six years perfecting this fragrance. And the secret ingredient she finally found to finish it off was plum!”

Comme Des Garcons Black Pepper 100ml, £86

Hannah Richardson, beauty buyer

“This might not seem like an obvious summer scent at first but that’s what the concierge edit is all about, exploring unique and interesting fragrances to find that one perfume that makes you smell like no one else.

The combination of spicy black pepper (no surprises there!), with warming notes of cedarwood, patchouli and slightly sweet tonka bean make for a sexy, addictive scent, perfect for long summer evenings somewhere hot.”

Acne Studios by Frédéric Malle Eau de Parfum 100ml, £290

Sean Payne, fragrance concierge

“With their newest creation, Frederic Malle has presented a rather contemporary scent, but nonetheless steeped in the tradition.

The initial burst of aldehydes is almost clinical, reminiscent of detergent or linen spray. Estée Lauder’s classic fragrance, “White Linen”, comes to mind at first. But underneath the aldehyde is where the scent has a paradoxical quality. The floral accord has a candied quality to it, which totally juxtaposes the aldehyde.

However, why I think this new creation is fantastic is that it blends these two similarly distant worlds and the end result is a scent which is totally amicable and somewhat familiar, but not generic in the slightest.

If we look back to the 1920s, which was truly the period where floral aldehydes took over the perfume world, there haven’t been an awful lot of new interpretations of the style since. Post Chanel No.5, of course, there was Caleche by Hermes, Rive Gauche by Yves Saint Laurent, Arpege by Lanvin, Joy by Jean Patou and L’air Du Temps by Nina Ricci. But in recent years, there has not been an awful lot of new interpretations, even since Pierre Bourdon’s masterpiece Iris Poudre, which was the first offering from Frederic Malle in 2000.

Acne Studios by Frédéric Malle is, of course, fantastic, but could we be seeing something perhaps even more interesting? In other words, the resurgence of a perfume style which swept through Paris 100 years ago."

Aesop Tacit Eau de Parfum 50ml, £115

Michael Rodriguez, fragrance concierge

"This iconic Aesop fragrance stands out for its unconventional approach to summer scents. Rather than relying on the typical light and floral notes, it offers a bold herbaceous core, featuring the distinct aromas of rosemary, fennel, and basil. This unique blend creates a robust and invigorating foundation, which is uplifted by refreshing hints of mint and the zesty brightness of yuzu citrus.

Beloved by Aesop enthusiasts and Liberty lovers alike, this fragrance is celebrated for its ability to capture the essence of summer in an unexpected and sophisticated way. The harmonious play of herbal and citrus notes not only makes it a refreshing choice for a warm day but also adds a touch of elegance and depth to any summer scent collection.

Whether you're looking to make a statement or simply enjoy a scent that evolves beautifully in the heat, this Aesop creation is a quintessential choice. Its ability to balance strength and freshness ensures that it leaves a lasting impression, making it a fantastic addition to your seasonal fragrance collection."
