Our resident collective of dreamers and explorers, it is a Liberty Fabrics designer’s natural instinct to look to worlds afar to inspire the prints conjured up in our London studio. But for The House of Liberty – the new Liberty Interiors fabric and wallpaper collection curated in honour of our 150th Anniversary – they turned their focus to a destination much closer to home: the iconic Liberty archive.
Brimming with over 60,000 artefacts that collectively chronicle the rich story of our design legacy, they sifted through every sketchbook, pored over every drawing and examined every last swatch. Their pursuit? To pinpoint the most seminal moments of Liberty’s aesthetic history, those responsible for cementing our position as a leading tastemaker of interior design.
With armfuls of high Victorian paisleys, embellished embroideries and characterful geometrics to hand, they set to work reimagining this history for the modern home. And the result – The House of Liberty – is a saga told through silk-like jacquards, twill stripes, woven wools, printed linens, tactile velvets and textured, wide-width wallpapers. Just the thing to breathe new life into your space for 2025, and far beyond. Care to take a look?
