In 1970, inspired by the shared love of games with his father George, Costas Manopoulos opened a small shop in Athens, selling a limited quantity of handcrafted chess and backgammon sets. His ethos of beautifully crafted games and their ability to bring people together has endured and grown - today Manopoulos crafts historical metal chess and traditional, handmade backgammon sets that traverse the globe, as well as showing at prestigious international exhibitions year on year.
