Editor's Notes
A celebration of culture and travel, the China II print from Guy Gee showcases the artist's signature fusion of historic and contemporary design.
Updating a 100-year-old hand engraved miniature, this statement piece has been enlarged and digitally revised for a fresh take on a traditional artwork, which is finally float mounted, signed and editioned – hang it in an office, hallway or incorporate it into a gallery wall to bring an Eastern flair to your space.
About Guy Gee
Guy Gee, a London-based artist specialising in sculpture and interior design opened his own studio in 2018, after a period working on TV advertisements for Coca-Cola, Cadbury's and Marks & Spencer. Shortly after Gee stumbled across a Japanese stamp from the 1890s, igniting the ‘Terence Stamp’ project where the artist reimagines postage stamps by digital revision and enlargement - in a style that is now globally recognisable. Look to his prints for an idiosyncratic addition to your art collection, one that explores themes of geography, history and communication through design.
