Editor's Notes
Maison Margiela nods to deconstructionist influences with this trench coat – which captures the label’s avant-garde outlook. A streamlined take on the timeless trench silhouette, the coat is cut from cotton-blend gabardine with a satin lining that extends from both sleeves to create an offbeat feel. It’s shaped to a generous, relaxed and longline silhouette that can be cinched with the detachable belt.

About Maison Margiela
Maison Margiela (originally Maison Martin Margiela) was founded in 1988 by elusive Belgian designer Martin Margiela. An unmarked white space in Paris housed its first store and the brand quickly found cult status with its intellectual minimalism. Garments were tailored with surgical precision, raw-edged with pieces missing, inside-out seams and no branding other than four identifying stitches. 2014 saw fashion's favourite wild child John Galliano installed as creative director – and the house’s legacy is now filtered through his romantic, rose-tinted lens.
