Ode to the perfumer's short tenure as an altar boy, Frédéric Malle's Notre Dame candle recreates the dry warmth of the vapour and the damp coolness of the stone typical of a cathedral. Bruno Jovanovic concocted this fragrance from his lab in New York City, overcoming the technical difficulty it entails, to end with this comforting church-like scent.

A rising star of perfumery, Bruno Jovanovic discovered the magical world of fragrance on a visit to a department store. A dreamer and highly creative thinker, he lives by the philosophy that "beauty is universal and has no concept" - an idea that is reflected in his compositions.
