HOW TO USE
Morning or evening, this mindful beauty practise is meditative and relaxing. Gua Sha is best performed on clean skin that has been primed with an oil or moisturiser to fend off excess friction. Angling the Gua Sha tool as close to parallel with your skin as possible, place the fingers of your free hand close to the tool's edge to provide some resistance, then gently sweep the tool up and out toward the perimeter of your face. At the end of each stroke, give the tool a little extra wiggle to help release the tension (the edges of the face are chock-full of overworked muscle and ligament connections). Repeat each stroke three times - you can build up to more once you've learned your skin's tolerance.
This Jade Gua Sha from Wild Source is a sculpting and lifting beauty tool inspired by centuries-old self-care practises.
Based on the ancient principles of crystal healing in traditional Chinese medicine, this Gua Sha tool is used as a remedy for stress that manifests in the facial muscles. From furrowed brow to clenched jaw or even a tension headache, chronic stress can in turn wreak havoc on the complexion. Crafted from rose quartz - a gemstone said to bring peace and harmony while helping ease mental stress - this tool works with a simple massage routine to increase blood flow and stimulate the lymphatic system. With regular use, skin is rejuvenated, toned and smooth, with results that include boosted collagen, reduced pigmentation, dark circles and puffy eyes, defined jawline and even decongested sinuses.
