For 150 years, Liberty's story has been woven alongside the artistic movement: a voyage of creativity and discovery through past, present and future that has shaped the fabric of our DNA.
Join us to celebrate our 150th anniversary: helping us bring this history to life. We invite you, our network of artisans, makers, designers and visionaries, to collaborate from all corners of the country. The result: the creation of a new piece of art: a supersized patchwork quilt, comprised of hundreds of individual pieces - each created by you.
Destined to be displayed at Liberty in a special installation in May 2025, before living on in the Liberty archive, this collective artwork will tell a new story: the next chapter of Liberty's history. A physical manifestation of the creativity, community, values and talent that make Liberty, Liberty.

3Our complimentary Liberty fabric packs have now all gone due to high demand; however you are more than welcome to use your own materials or buy Liberty fabrics to create your patchwork square. We do ask for at least 60% Liberty fabrics in your creation. Please see “The Details” and “Conditions of Entry and FAQs” below for further information on the requirements and terms and conditions of your submission.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- You will need to create a 25x25 cm patchwork square.
- You must leave a 1.5cm seam allowance around the edge of your square.
- Download our free patchwork patterns, or use your own design if it matches the required dimensions.
- Please use the Tana Lawn or Lasenby Cotton fabric provided by Liberty and/or own materials. We do ask for at least 60% Liberty fabrics in your creation!
- Get personal - unique embroidery and embellishment very much encouraged! Wed love for each square to be entirely unique, so don't be afraid to get creative!
- Please DO NOT back your square. This is very important for the structure of the installation, and we may not be able to use your square if you have backed it.

We’ve now run out of complimentary fabric packs due to high demand. You can still get involved by using your own fabric to create your patchwork square. We do ask for at least 60% Liberty fabrics in your creation.

In addition to supplying your own fabrics, you will need:
- All sewing materials, thread and needles
Please ensure that your completed square is returned to us by no later than 21st February 2025. Once we receive all the squares, we will begin stitching together the final installation.
No, you will need to return your patchwork square to the same retailer you collected your fabric pack, or return to the Liberty London Fabric Department on the Third Floor.

There are a limited number of fabric packs available, with 1,000 on offer. These are available on a first come, first served basis. Unfortunately, Liberty will not be creating any more so once they are gone, they are gone.
The complimentary fabric packs contain enough fabric for 1 x 25x25cm patchwork square. You may submit more squares if you like, using your own fabric (although we do ask for at least 60% Liberty fabrics in your creation), but there is no guarantee these will be included and we will be unable to return any that aren’t featured.
Liberty may incorporate your patchwork piece into the final installation, however space is limited so we may be unable to feature everyone’s creations. Please note, once submitted, we will be unable to return any patchwork squares.
The final Patchwork Collective installation will be displayed in-store during May 2025. Images of the installation will be used on Libertylondon.com, Liberty social media sites, and other promotional materials. Then the installation will be kept in the archive.
Unfortunately, there is limited space in the final installation, so we may be unable to feature everyone’s creations. Please note, once submitted, we will be unable to return any patchwork squares.
Yes! As long as you complete the returns form when you send us your square and do not opt out of being credited. This form will be included with your fabric pack. If you did not receive a fabric pack or returns slip, we will need the following information to credit you. Please include this when you send your square back to us.
