Ahead of the evening, Liberty caught up with the experts for a glimpse into their routines, rituals and biggest beauty lessons.
Caroline Hirons, founder of Skin Rocks
What’s your favourite beauty ritual?
Well, let’s be honest it’s much less a ritual and more a chore but I’m ritualistic with removing my make-up and doing my skincare routine as soon as I get home. The Skin Rocks Cream Cleanser makes this process much easier.
What’s one beauty lesson you wish you’d learned sooner?
Wear SPF, always. I’m an 80s girl so in my youth, the ambition was to tan. Not just any tan, that deep brown, sensitive to the touch tan. This is probably one of the worst things you can do for your skin and your health. Wear the SPF!
What are your three non-negotiables when it comes to skin care?
Double-cleanse, SPF and don’t over-strip your skin. If your skin is not behaving, less is more is always the approach.
Charlotte Mensah, founder of Charlotte Mensah
What’s your favourite beauty ritual?
The Charlotte Mensah Manketti oil is my daily beauty ritual, I love oiling my hair with the Manketti Oil as it provides nourishment and protection all the way to the hair shaft. It also adds a healthy shine without adding weight.
What’s one beauty secret you wish more people knew?
Drinking a lot of water is the most important beauty rule. You can put on different masks, oils, serums and creams but when I drink a lot of water, around three litres a day, after a week I see a big difference in my skin.
What are your three top tips for maintaining heathy hair?
1. Have a weekly routine.
Wash your hair weekly with a moisturising shampoo that has extra emollients. Those formulated for dry and damaged hair are most nourishing. Follow each shampoo with a rinse -out conditioner.
Every 2 weeks give yourself an exfoliating scalp treatment, which helps to remove dead skin cells, excess oil and product residue, allowing more oxygen and blood circulation to. the scalp.
2. Get regular trims.
Cutting off any amount of hair can be difficult, but you have to trim your locks every 6-8 weeks to maintain your style and keep your ends healthy.
3. Prep before bedtime.
Take 5 minutes to pamper your hair before bedtime. That means moisturizing if necessary, securing the ends and covering at night with a silk scarf.
Yasmin Sewell, founder of Vyrao
What’s your favourite beauty ritual?
A hot bath and Gua Sha, body and face Gua Sha.
What’s one beauty secret you wish more people knew?
It's a very simple one that people often forget, waking up and drinking lots of water.
What are your top tips for choosing a signature scent?
At Vyrao we don't talk so much about signature scents, as our fragrances are created to be worn at different times, a different scent for a different mood. With that in mind, choose what makes you feel great, what lifts your spirit.
Stuart Coleman, Executive Director of Education at Hourglass
What’s your favourite beauty ritual?
Creating our Hourglass Signature Glow. I always, always start with our Equilibrium skincare collection.
I closely follow this with our Vanish Airbrush Primer, for a soft focused airbrushed effect before applying my favourite ‘foundation wardrobing’ technique. Starting with our Veil Hydrating Skin Tint, this visibly plumps and smooths the skin followed by our Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick to provide any additional coverage.
The perfect signature glow always includes our Vanish Airbrush Concealer, set with our Veil Translucent Setting Powder, and finalised with our renowned Ambient Lighting Powder swept across the highest points of the face to mimic a multi-dimensional glow.
What’s one beauty secret you wish more people knew?
Understanding your undertone in complexion products. Once you establish your undertone, this will ensure your entire look is seamless. I often encourage to look to select seasonally with a warmer undertone for the warmer months, and cooler in winter.
What are your tips for elevating an everyday make-up look?
To mimic always looking well rested – our multi-award winning Vanish Airbrush Concealeris my secret weapon. The innovative micro spherical powder infused formula instantly blurs and brightens for up to 16 hours to diffuse the appearance of dark circles, imperfections, pores and fine lines.
Your very own signature Lip. Starting with our Shape & Sculpt Lip Liner to create a seamless plumped outline, finish with your favourite shade of our Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm, leaving the lips nourished and smooth with its full-bodied colour and comfortable all day, all occasion wear.
Join Caroline Hirons, Charlotte Mensah, Yasmin Sewell, Stuart Coleman and The Telegraph's Sonia Haria at our exclusive in store event on Wednesday 8th May.
