For a new-age take on foundation that feels satisfyingly lightweight yet amps up glow, step right this way…
By: Shannon PeterThe Synopsis
If you have something of a foundation aversion, but still want a product that will knock back redness, help create uniformity of skin tone and add a deliciously dewy glow, consider your prayers answered. Hourglass has achieved the almost unthinkable with its new launch: Veil Hydrating Skin Tint, £49, available in 18 far-reaching shades.

The Rise to Fame
If anyone knows great skin, it’s Hourglass. The creator of a whole host of excellent primers, foundations and concealers (plus plenty else besides), this is the brand to turn to if you want customisable coverage, makeup longevity and a finish that looks just like real skin – only perhaps a little glowier. And this latest launch – a noticeably hydrating, sheer skin tint – is no exception to the rule.
The Credentials
Incredibly lightweight, while it might provide a nice level of buildable, blendable coverage, this skin tint feels nothing like a foundation and it feels even lighter than a traditional tinted moisturiser. In fact, it’s more like a serum, sitting comfortably and undetectably on the skin, while also plying it with an extra dose of moisture, courtesy of hyaluronic acid, meadowfoam seed oil and squalane: a triple threat of mega hydration.

The Star Quality
A special mention goes out to the ease of application. Whether you’ve got time to spend in front of the mirror or need to apply on a sweaty commute, it’s very difficult to go wrong. Simply pat into the areas you want (that could be all over or just the centre of the face) and use either your fingers, a brush or a sponge to blur and blend the edges. Easy.
