Guerlain L'Art & La Matière - Tobacco Honey

Guerlain’s L’Art & La Matière collection is a showcase of the most masterful creations from the house’s fragrance aficionados, and the Tobacco Honey eau de parfum is a dazzling jewel within the house’s superlative selection. Astonishing in its honey-scented realism, this mouth-watering perfume blends the gourmand stickiness of floral honey with warm tobacco leaf and tonka bean over a base of creamy sandalwood and powerful oud.

Created by Delphine Jelk and released in September 2023, it was crowned “Perfume Extraordinaire” by The Fragrance Foundation in its 2024 Fragrance Awards. Not only does the creation of this honeyed elixir satisfy Jelk’s creative desire to form a fragrance around the “delicious, enveloping nectar,” but it also plays into Guerlain’s rich history with the bee.

The emblematic insect has appeared on the house’s bottles since 1853, when it was chosen due to its existence as a French imperial symbol, and today the beauty brand uses the nourishing royal jelly from France's Ouessant island-native black bee in its skincare. Spiced with clove and anise, then warmed by amber and vanilla notes, this golden perfume is a fitting tribute to the regal creature.

Infiniment Coty Paris - L’Amour Poupre

First founded in 1904, François Coty’s eponymous fragrance house has always been a disruptor, pioneering the art of perfumery through science. Today Infiniment Coty Paris continues this trailblazing tradition with co-creators Sue Nabi and Nicolas Vu bridging the house’s heritage with a futuristic vision.

While there are 14 unisex fragrances – each housed in beautiful art deco-inspired bottles – it’s the label’s seductive L'Amour Pourpre parfum that blooms as an outstanding example of the perfumers’ innovation. Lavender lies at the heart of this scent story, but it’s a lavender unlike any you’ve experienced before.

Distinct from stuffy scents of old, this purple floral has a balsamic bite, underscoring the powdery petals with a bewitching hint of spice. Majestic amber and aromatic resins have paramount parts to play in the profile, alongside warming woods and sweet vanilla to round out the avant-garde aroma. For those that prefer their florals a shade softer, the brand’s Les Mots Doux is a sweet, soapy scent bursting with delicate blooms of jasmine and rose, entwined in a whirlwind of petaled perfection.

Liberty LBTY. Fragrance - Hera Reigns

The Liberty LBTY. fragrance collection takes our own archival patterns as a sensory starting point, reimagining iconic prints in olfactory form. While each beguiling bottle highlights a different facet of our flagship, it’s the sophisticated oud aroma of Hera Reigns that specifically evokes Liberty’s bohemian appeal. This unisex scent was crafted by renowned nose Honorine Blanc, drawing from the historic Hera design conceived in 1887 by Arthur Silver.

Named after the Greek goddess whose sacred animal was the peacock, this heritage pattern features the exotic feather frequently used as a symbol during the Aesthetic Movement – peacock feathers made notable appearances in Aubrey Beardsley’s illustrations for Oscar Wilde's one-act play Salome in 1894.

Wilde, who was also known to decorate his rooms with peacock feathers, noted Liberty as “the chosen resort of the artistic shopper”, so it follows that the feather-festooned vessel of Hera Reigns should speak to that creative spirit. The perfume opens vibrantly with sparkling pink pepper, followed by a floral heart of jasmine and gardenia that’s underlined by the evocative warmth of leather, precious oud, and rich frankincense, ensuring a spellbinding allure.

Perfumer H - Ink Rewritten

Founded in 2015 by Lyn Harris, Perfumer H demonstrates the classically trained British aroma maestro’s visionary endeavour to encapsulate distinct, singular scents such as Dust, Salt or Smoke. Among these evocative aromas, it’s Ink that stands out as the range’s most cerebral scent, conjuring late nights in dimly lit libraries with the metallic tang of ink splashed on white paper.

The iconic eau de parfum is now reinterpreted in a creative collaboration with food writer Nigel Slater, a long-time admirer of the integrity of Harris’ work. To the original formula’s unconventional ingredients, Slater adds notes of juniper, herbaceous angelica, green galbanum and warming sandalwood, giving it a delectable bouquet befitting of the foodie’s palate.

Entitled INK Rewritten, this limited-edition perfume is bottled with custom labels in navy blue – Slater’s favourite colour. Also found within the shared selection with Perfumer H is a loose-leaf tea named ‘A Feast’, demonstrating the London-based brand’s ambition to offer engaging experiences for all the senses.

Vilhelm Parfumerie x Liberty Peony Couture

If each perfume bottle within Vilhelm Parfumerie’s library unfurls a fragrant narrative, then Peony Couture tells a tale that can only be told within Liberty’s storied halls. Created exclusively in 2018 for our London flagship as part of a creative collaboration with the house’s founder and creative director Jan Ahlgren, Peony Couture pays tribute to Liberty founder Sir Arthur Lasenby Liberty.

The timeless scent profile is inspired by the adventurous route travelled by the merchant as he journeyed to the Far East in search of the various ornaments, fabrics and miscellaneous objets d'art he would sell in his eclectic store.

Following the famous Silk Road, the perfume’s story begins with juicy bergamot, spicy black pepper and aniseed before opening to a heart of lush peony and romantic Turkish roses. Base notes of incense and wild cedarwood provide a warm grounding that allows the flamboyant flower to take centre stage. Truly a masterpiece within the perfume house’s collection, this captivating blend is packaged in its own particular box, patterned in Liberty’s historical “Henry” paisley print.
