Drawing inspiration from Burnett’s 1911 masterpiece, the team have created ten new designs in a selection of captivating colourways and bases, helping you to capture the essence of the garden inside your home this spring.

Capello Shell furnishing fabric was discovered on the back pages of a Liberty archive book, where it began its life in the Lancashire mills. The design was inspired by the rhyme, ‘Mary Mary quite contrary’; this nursery rhyme was chanted to Mary in India when she began gathering mounds of earth to make an imaginary garden. Today, sea shells and cockle shells evoke symmetry and perfection, along with memories of the sea and the beauty of collecting, alluded to in the Secret Garden.
