Comme des Garçons
COMMES des GARÇONS - French for “like boys” - is an internationally renowned label founded in 1969 by Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo. The iconic red-heart-with-eyes logo of its PLAY line is instantly recognised across the globe. In 2017 New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art made the theme of its annual Costume Institute exhibition Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between, demonstrating the breadth of the designer’s influence. Today the brand’s colour-saturated, avant-garde designs are beloved by fashion devotees around the world.
