Editor's Notes

This Art Deco gilt and marble alarm clock by Dep is a highly collectible timepiece hand-sourced by the experts at Designer Vintage.

A striking piece from the Art Deco period, this clock features an ecru engine-turned zigzag dial, with metallic blue spade and whip hands, a gilt alarm hand, black Arabic numerals and an outer minute track with highlighted hour markers. Set in a gilt circular frame, it is encased in a marble frame with a central rondelle flanked by cylinders, all set on a rectangular self stepped base. Carrying the Dep authenticity script, this 30-hour mechanical movement clock is a captivating find – sure to become a treasured heirloom.

To wind the clock: rotate the bottom left winder in a clockwise direction until you feel a tightening of the tension, then stop. To set the time: rotate the central button the desired time in an anti-clockwise direction. To set the alarm: rotate the bottom right winder in a clockwise direction until you feel a tightening of the tension, then stop. Then rotate the left button (marked Reveil) to the desired time in an anti-clockwise direction and gently slide the top-right tab upwards. To stop the alarm: gently slide the top-right tab downwards. Always ensure hands are rotated forward not backward.
